My students usually prefer auditory and visual sensory strategies to help regulate themselves when they become overstimulated.
These materials will make a difference with the students in their self discovery of individual self soothing sensory strategies.
The light table will create a learning center where the students can complete activities on the light table and have a sensory break where they manipulate different materials to create a calming area.
The listening materials could benefit from listening calming music, and listening their favorite books. Listening to auditory books with headphones will create a safe area and for the students to relax and enjoy literacy.
