The students are able to engage in independent practice in the literacy and math centers already in the classroom. The materials are beginning to show the wear and tear of their enthusiasm and 30+ years of use!
I am always searching for new ideas to make new materials for my students to use- printing, cutting, laminating, and storing them for ease of use. Utilizing these simple centers with other packaged centers gives ample choices for everyone to use so that learning continues throughout the day. With a larger variety, I am able to rotate materials often enough for their needs to be met without "boredom" taking the fun out of independent practice.
