Last year my school switched to virtual learning without notice during the nation-wide lock-down. We were not prepared. My lessons were weak and clumsy. Students were not required to complete them because all things were not equal for all our students. Many of our students come from free or reduced lunch status and therefore do not always have access to computers and/or the internet.
Now, as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year we are planning with quarantine in mind. We hope we don't have to do it, but just in case we are all being required to put our lesson on-line.
Much of the artwork I demonstrate is hands-on and very often small and detailed, such as in jewelry. A flexible document camera that would provide video and voice-over would be hugely beneficial to my students seated in class or at home!
