These ukuleles are great starter instruments, and could be used for students who don't already have an instrument, or whose families cannot afford one. I want to make this activity accessible to more kids. Many of my special education students show a great interest in music, and I want to focus on using this interest and strength to build bonds and find ways to improve their performance in other areas. Music is a gateway to so many things! I have a large percentage of students with absentee issues and I'm hoping this after school club will engage them and make them want to come to school because they have a preferred activity to look forward to.
