In my classroom we have fully implemented flexible seating. This means that my students get to move/pick a spot or seat that is the best to support their learning at any point during the day. My students have learned social skills, self reflection, and responsibility during this experience. We have a couch, exercise balls, desks on bed risers (standing desks), a coffee table, pillows, and 2 regular stools.
I have currently purchased all of the items in my classroom myself and with help from friends and family but there are some items that I have not been able to get on my own. These Hokki Stools are going to add an option to my classroom for students to grab when they need to wobble and expend excess energy while doing their work.
Currently, I have 2 regular stools, but due to students trying to lean on them (like Hokki Stools) they have bent the legs and I fear that this is unsafe for them. These Hokki Stools would provide them the option of leaning and wobbling safely while encouraging active and engaged learning.
