These two computers will be utilized daily for Reading Plus. This program, if used regularly throughout the school year, will increase reading comprehension by 1 to 2 grade levels. My students' reading comprehension is well below grade level. By having these computers available during recess, lunch, and after school, students without computers at home will be able to access the program for the needed 20 to 30 minutes.
During class time I will also be able to use these computers when station teaching. Station teaching is where you have multiple stations for students to rotate through during class time. This gives multiple students the opportunity to utilize the computer for research, checking on their grades, and working on projects/papers.
The world today is technology driven, and, in order to prepare my students for their futures, we need to ensure they can read and know how to utilize a computer.
