We often help younger grades with projects that might be too daunting for the teacher to tackle alone. It's a win win situation! They get to do things that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to do and we get the experience of demonstrating leadership skills.
We are also learning to shop on a budget, read a recipe and prepare a dish, sew on a button, and many other valuable skills that tend to be overlooked in schools and at home in our society.
