Students will use the materials such as the blocks, Tinker Toys, Magnetic Tiles, Construction Straws with a partner or alone to build a structure of their choice. Over time students will improve and build on their knowledge of basic structures and become risk takers as they add on to their original creations.
Materials will be used to engage students in practice, thought and conversation. They will be used to begin the day as well as through math rotation stations. Giving students choices about how they learn helps insure that meaningful learning is taking place. Allowing them to come back anther day allows them to continue their learning.
