The students who choose to come to my high school are unique and brave. They have opted to leave their big schools with all the drama, sports and rallies for our tiny school with a focus on careers in the medical field. In reality, some have come for a fresh start. Others have come because with the smaller environment, it is safer. Whatever their initial reason, they quickly see that we are a challenging school with the sole purpose of preparing our students for college and career. This is not an easy school and I am always impressed to find that some spend hours traveling to attend our school when they live very close to one of the other comprehensive high schools our city has to offer. Our students take on so much more than a regular high school student. They graduate with 50+ more credits than required for a diploma. The course of study they will undergo will include all the basics plus several cross curricular units each year that focuses on the medical theme.
