I teach at a lower income high school and many families struggle to afford new clothes. Coats, shoes, socks, P.E. uniforms, job interview clothes are just a few examples that we see a high need in.
My classroom started a clothing pantry at the start of the year and it has grown so quickly, and been so successful that we need additional organizational space, clothes racks, and hangers to better help all of our students on campus, and keep this project growing and thriving.
When our students are warm, have clean fitting clothes, and are comfortable they will be able to be better students which will lead to more success in school.
