Every student loves to cook and eat. Not every student is as excited about reading, writing, and math. In the Locavore Cooking & Eating Classroom, we use food as a portal to developing and honing academic skills.
The four complete sets of cooking implements and utensils will help us create an accessible and thoughtful environment for our student chefs to develop the ability to problem-solve, break down a task, organize a team, and to give or follow directions.
Our kitchen classroom benefits every Walden student, but particularly aids students with learning disabilities such as ADHD or students on the autism spectrum.
