Think about a time you had to perform a task in an uncomfortable position, you probably weren't focused, were ready to leave before you even got there, or the quality of work just wasn't great. Now think about how children feel seating at tables and in chairs that aren't suited for their learning style.
I have learned a lot about these 22 unique kindergartners that will be transitioning with me to first grade. They have varied needs and learning styles. I want them to feel comfortable while learning, not all students are able to sit for 6+ hours in hard plastic chairs, giving them an option will help them feel at home and help with their creativity. I want to create a safe, warm, and inviting atmosphere for them while they're away from home.
