Our goal is to raise funds to buy extra uniform tops (shirts and cardigans) for students who are unable to afford the cost of purchasing these items themselves. Our school, located in a very old public school building, is a uniform-mandatory school. However, some of our students are only able to purchase one uniform item, so we’d like to help those students out by purchasing additional uniform shirts for them. We’d also like to be able to buy a few extra cardigans to keep our neediest students warm during cold NYC winters in our old building. With no elevator in our building, our students climb four flights of stairs, multiple times daily, to reach our 4th-floor classrooms. Therefore, we want to purchase a personal water bottle for each of our students. Few of the students students have been able to buy their own water bottles to refill throughout the day. However, with personal water bottles, our students would easily be able to stay refreshed and hydrated all day. Personal water bottles will also help minimize distractions in the classroom because it will reduce the amount of students from needing to leave the classroom to drink from the water fountains. Therefore, their instructional time in the classroom would be maximized. We know this seems like a small thing, but every minute of instruction counts to us! With your help, we can provide uniform shirts to our neediest students and easy access to water for all of our students! If we can help our students with basic necessities, like clothing and water, we can allow them to focus on the most important thing in school - learning.
