A plan has already been created as to how the technology will be used in class daily, whether it is a kindergarten student or a 6th grader.
The laptops, Chromebooks, and/or tablets will be used to give students the opportunity to explore English creatively. They will be able to create and record their own stories to develop their oral and listening language skills, as well as develop their writing (grammar and spelling) skills when they draft the scripts of their stories. This can also help with motor skills for the younger students.
Students will have the opportunity to use the electronic dictionary and thesaurus when paper copies aren't available, expanding their vocabulary, and view images of words they do not know or understand. They can utilize google translate to communicate with those who only speak English to be more collaborative with their peers when they are unable to find the exact word or words they need, and complete projects for any of their classes, especially those who do not have access to technology in the home, which involves most of my students.
There are so many opportunities for success and technology is just another tool to get there.
