All of our students exhibit various levels of sensory needs that impact their concentration while learning in the classroom. While I teach students with intellectual disabilities, many of our kids have also been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, or autism. A few of our students receive physical and/or occupational therapy to meet their needs as well.
These wobble stools and balance ball chairs will not only assist our students with releasing movement while working, they will also help them to maintain good posture while working at their desks. Using these items may also act as a stress reliever for some of our students who battle anxiety. Several of our students come from a low socioeconomic background.
My goal is to help my students with their sensory needs while enhancing their ability to learn in the classroom. I feel that when students' personal needs are met, they are able to enjoy a more beneficial learning experience.
