Because English Language Learners (ELLs) are simultaneously learning a new language and a new curriculum, teachers must use multiple ways to expose them to both. These students learn best when they can experience the English language and the school curriculum through verbal, visual, and tactile means. Culturally competent classrooms are rich with picture visuals and hands-on activities.
By providing each pre-kindergarten classroom with an ample supply of Play-Doh, our young English Language Learners will be motivated to learn letter and number formation because the learning approach will be fun, engaging, and multi-sensory. The teachers and students of these classrooms will be excited to have the appropriate supplies to make this activity possible. Making student learning fun and appropriate for diverse learning needs is the number one goal for these pre-kindergarten teachers and students. Please consider helping us today!
