SnapWords is a fantastic, multi-sensory resource to help students learn their sight words and high-frequency words!
Sight words and high-frequency words account for 80-90% of words found in children books and up to 50% of words found in writings for adults. Sight words are words that do not fit standard phonetic patterns and must be memorized and high-frequency words include words both that must be memorized and those that do follow standard phonetic patterns. For students with disabilities, learning and memorizing these words can be incredibly challenging.
SnapWords is an amazing resource to teach students sight words and high-frequency words in a multi-sensory way. This helps students with disabilities, especially those with below average working memory skills, learn their sight words which can vastly improve their reading accuracy and fluency which then positively impacts their reading comprehension. SnapWords help capture the whole word as a picture and include a body motion to help memorize each word. Color helps train the brain and visuals help students memorize concepts that would otherwise be incredibly challenging. This program would help so many students with learning disabilities learn their sight words and high-frequency words which will then have such an incredible impact on their academic future.
