Putting tables in the classroom will help my students in a number of ways.
As a teacher who believes in the power of working together, I try to allow my students the opportunity to collaborate on a daily basis. By working together, students will get the opportunity to grow, not only in Math, Science, and Social Studies, but also in their skills to work together in a community. Skills like working together and sharing space help students to understand the beauty of academic and cultural diversity, and will carry far beyond the 5th grade classroom. Please help me give my students a chance to gain these extremely valuable life skills.
