Engineering takes many forms, and in my classroom we work on a FIRST Robotics team where tools are a basic necessity. Tools requested, drill and reciprocating saw, will help my students not only build their 120 lb robot, but also allow them to gain the life skills of basic tool usage and safety.
Many of our students come from disadvantaged homes where drills and saws are just not commonplace. Both tools will be used for metal and wood drilling as the students work on their robot, build field elements to play the game challenge, and build a robot storage crate.
