My students need support and resources to help them understand their big/uncomfortable/ often troublesome feelings. These materials, such as Kimochis Social emotional tools, therapy games, and books, will help me provide a kid-friendly curriculum and a safe space to learn that we all go through difficult feelings. These items will give students the chance to learn while playing. It will also improve the school culture at GW encouraging empathy by creating safe spaces to share about feelings. Students will be encouraged to learn coping skills such as: taking deep breaths, walking away, being mindful, and most of all laughing. My hope is that with these tools GW students will learn to put their BRAVE in front of their sad.
