We are a fourth grade class located in a low-income, Title I school, where most of the students live in poverty. They come from a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The majority of our students are learning English as a second language while they patiently try to teach me phrases in their native language. No matter what hardships they may face at home, our students arrive each day eager to learn, communicate, and express themselves.
