We are buying jingle bells and maracas for students to use during our concert. We are buying percussion instruments to help students learn rhythm and to possible use in concerts for the future.
These instruments will help students learn basic rhythms and apply them into choral pieces. They will help students make connections!
As students are able to learn musical terms and background information, they can apply this information to new situations. Music is no longer taught in our school. My coworker and I are sharing our musical background with students. Our choir has also begun to search for community opportunities. For example, we were able to visit and bring joy to an assisted living home. The residents were so excited for us to come and share our talents.
