My class was funded in the beginning of the school year for healthy, pre-portioned snacks to help them feel energized throughout our long morning of learning. We eat a late lunch and many of my students are unable to pack their own snacks from home. We have been able to stretch that donation for half the school year, but unfortunately we are beginning to run out. A few parents have tried to send in snacks to help, but with a class of 22 students, the weekly expense has become great on them as well as myself. I thought I would reach out again to see if my students could continue their class routine of fueling their brains after special as they continue to work hard on their education.
