Cardio drumming is a highly engaging, non-traditional fitness activity to incorporated into dance & rhythm units. Students use drumsticks to drum out beats and patterns on stability balls while also performing exercises. It is a great way to get student’s heart rates up while also having fun improving coordination with a musical beat and rhythm development.
By incorporating a non-traditional activity, we hope to reach learners from all demographics to develop their skills, address grade-level learning outcomes, improve fitness levels and develop an appreciation for dance and rhythms. This activity will be incorporated into all grade levels K-4 as a part of our rhythm and dance units. Students will be encouraged to practice at home and videos will be provided by our Facebook page and made available in the Physical Education Google Classroom.
