I teach in a very diverse urban school. Most of the students I teach come from a low income household. Many of the students receive free or reduced lunch on a daily basis. In addition, my classroom is an inclusion setting where students with special needs are mainstreamed into a general education classroom. The students who enter my classroom every day are eager to learn despite all of the obstacles they are faced with in their daily lives. As a teacher I want to ensure that my students have all the tools necessary to be successful in their school career.
