As a school wide project, we hope to update our library. Our library was built in 1951 and it is not student friendly. The bookshelves, decor, and furniture is outdated and inappropriate sizing for student use, especially our younger pre-school through second graders. We hope that by adding lower level tables and colorful chairs, it will make it inviting and more accessible to use.
Our students deserve to call their library a place of their own.
The back of our library is currently being used as storage of materials with no space to put them. It is unaccessible for students. With the addition of bookshelves and storage bins, we can make it more organized. Once the back area is organized, we can use the space to create a listening center where students can go and enjoy flexible seating and listen to their favorite books with their peers. By adding age appropriate posters and decorations, students will feel excited to enter the library and stay to learn.
This project will affect every student in the school, not just one classroom. Your donation will impact the school’s climate and overall student attitude for reading and learning. The materials will be used for years to come.
