The students in my classroom are working on building a variety of skills. By providing my students with different options of where they can learn in the classroom, such as the reading corner, they can feel more comfortable and gain confidence in their skills. The reading corner gives the students their own space away from other students or distractions in the classroom. The students will be using this corner to read independently or with a partner. They will be able to practice their reading skills and build their fluency while finding enjoyment in their education. Frequently the students have energy that they need to get out of their system or sensory stimulation needs that they are trying to meet. The fidget tools will help meet those needs. The students use these fidget tools when they are feeling anxious or struggling emotionally.
The timers and digital clock will keep the students to a routine which they so often thrive on. I hope to use the chrome books as a way to bring technology to the classroom. Technology in the classroom will allow me to apply their classroom skills to the real world and their own life. Because of my students diverse needs technology will allow me to design my instruction around each of their individual levels. The students can learn skills that will help them grow their independence and develop capabilities they can apply to the real world.
