Can you sit for 90 minutes on a hard seat trapped at a desk and get up for 5 minutes to walk to another classroom only to sit for another 90-minute interval to only repeat this process two more times in the school day totaling 6.5 hours... Ugh! I can't and if you can't; why do we expect the students to endure this daily ritual.
Flexible seating will help me connect the students to learning!
Today the student carries all he/she needs in the hand in the phone.
The table top desk is not necessary and is very "old school" (pun intended-LOL) If you watch the students they will group desks together, put a desk next to a wall to lean and more. They are creative and find ways to generate comfortable seating.
I want different seats paired to create teambuilding. I would like tall desks and tall tables with tall stools. My goal is that all seats are different and no one seat is more desirable than the next. Seating is ergonomically correct AND is engaging!
