The importance of a well-stocked classroom library is widely studied. Research shows that students in classrooms with high-quality classroom libraries read 50 percent more than students who do not have access to a library in the classroom (Booksource, 2003; Hunter, 1999). These books will help to inspire reading in my students. They were picked to offer varying grade-level topics and reading levels for boys and girls. I've ordered 2 copies of each book set so students can read in partnerships to help with motivation and rich peer discussions about reading. By having a classroom library readily available to students, they always have access to high-quality texts and books that interest them!
