My sixth grade students are blessed to live out in the Arizona dessert. Their homes are spread out on acreages without paved roads and city lights.
Many of our families came out here to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living while others are here simply because they enjoy this unique beauty. We have several families in the area who have taken in foster children or have adopted hard to place children. They have brought them here to give them the space to figure out who they are, giving them room to explore and to be creative.
Some are well off while others have very little. Funny though, I couldn't tell you which was which as material things don't seem to matter as much here. I love them all and am grateful that I have the opportunity to come up here and be part of it all.
