Students in my class love to read, however they are very limited on what books they have access to, which is where you come in. My students need a wider variety of books in our classroom library in order to help them continue reading but also push them outside of their comfort zone and challenge them to read books of a higher level or a new genre.
The books that are included in this project are those that either my students have expressed specific interest in or are similar to ones they have already read and I know will challenge them and they will enjoy. Some of the topics of books included in this project are also topics that we discuss in class and students have expressed interest in learning more about them on their own.
Students in my class have reading assignments they must complete but also have time for independent reading not only in my class but throughout their day, thus the more options for books I can provide them with the more they will be encouraged to continue reading.
