After two years of virtual/hybrid learning I am finding that my students are addicted to their computer screens and lacking some very important interpersonal skills. Many of them spend every second of their free time with their nose in their phones or computers and not engaging socially with their peers. These interpersonal skills are especially important at this age because this is when they learn how to communicate and problem solve with others. I would like to fill my classroom with some fun card and board games for them to play with each other during their earned free time each week. This peer time will give my students a great opportunity to engage in structured socialization while having fun and as a result help them to develop these important skills.
