We are going to work with glass in the Art Room. We are going to create fused glass pieces, as well as paint on glass. We also will try creating stained glass.
Students will create their own picture, and then using the tools to cut and shape glass, will recreate images with glass that are then fused together, and attached together to make a large stained glass. Those pieces of glass will be glued to a piece of glass with a glue that leaves to residue, and then fused in the kiln. Students will be able to take those fused pieces of glass, and using stained glass techniques, attach them together to create one image. Students will have the chance to use soldering irons, and lead free solder, and attach the pieces together. This opportunity is so valuable for students as artists and creators. Many do not have the funds to try this medium, as it can be expensive.
