Technology is apart of our world. Let’s face it, it’s become an immense part of our world. Our school currently has a vast selection of out of date iPads that work for some amazing things but not everything. My kids love working on iPads. Currently we are able to use the app Socrative to take quizzes as well as AR tests but I know that there is much more for my students to experience.
With the new iPads, I can have my students enhancing their math skills in a math center by playing on a game name Prodigy. This is a game that they love that is educational as well as fun. They see various skills that we may not cover until very late in the year and sometimes not at all. It causes them to think as well as it creates conversations about skills between the students.
Also with the new IPads, we can use FaceTime to interact with various other classrooms to not only learn about where they live, their economics, their culture, etc. and they in turn can learn out our rural community, our economics, and our culture.
Finally with these new iPads I can help students be more creative. Another plan that I have to use the iPads is to use them to have the students create videos and use green screens to help show what they have learned about various subjects.
