Experiences like going on a field trip helps students to learn and discover real life experiences in the community. They will need these experiences for later in their lives when they become adults. This is an opportunity for my students to develop life long memories and experiences needed for independent living and adulthood. Many of my students live in homes that are not able to offer experiences outside of their homes. I would like to be able to give them some of these experiences. We all learn better by doing and this is so true of our students with special needs.
