Children want to be accepted and equal to others their age. When a child has disabilities, this becomes difficult and the gap tends to widen as they age. Access to appropriate resources help lessen the functional gap and assist them with compensatory strategies to help them become successful in everyday activities.
The materials chosen will be used to strengthen fine motor, gross motor, sensory, social and comprehension skills in order for success to take place. These items will be used on a daily basis to meet the student's needs where they are at developmentally and help close the social and functional gap.
