Autistic children see and perceive the world around them differently. Their senses are often heightened and experience lights, colors, and sounds in an awesome way. Sensory rooms allow autistic children to explore, engage, and enrich their learning expereinces. The optic lights will be used on the floors, ceilings, and walls to engage the children. The bubble tank will be added to the room to create an additional sensory explosion. Sensory rooms have been proven to help autistic children calm down, express themselves, and learn dramatic play. Our current sensory room is bare, white walls, and a few objects for interaction. Please help transform my boring classroom into the visual, tactile, and auditory stimulation that these children deserve.
