Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their own learning by being able to learn wherever they learn best. Engagement increases when students are comfortable in their classroom. I want my students to be able to learn in a comfortable classroom full of resources that will help them succeed.
Students need hands-on experience with math in order to gain conceptual understanding. The options that I selected will help give my students more places to sit. I will use the math manipulatives in both whole and small group teaching. The Hot Dots are an interactive problem-solving tool that students can use during centers. Even though I am a first year teacher, I do not want my students to be limited because I cannot provide them with the necessary resources that will help them be successful. My students need to be both comfortable and engaged so that they can fully understand and enjoy mathematics. Thank you for helping me enhance my classroom as a first year teacher so that my students are provided with limitless opportunities!
