In our county, we started using the new reading curriculum Core Knowledge Language Arts. Using this curriculum, my students are listening to a higher level of text with rich content and vocabulary. They are able to make amazing connections to previous domains as well as real life.
The funding for this project will help purchase shared reading books that will allow my students to read grade level text to deepen their knowledge of topics such as Fairy Tales and Tall Tales, Ancient Greek Civilization, Greek Myths, the War of 1812, and Cycles in Nature.
I believe that all students need to have a book in hand, and the funding for this project will help make that happen!
