Hi i call this project my STEAM groups. The young students today are so tech savvy that I feel the tablets will keep them engaged. A learning tool that can be used in any topic. Students work in groups of about four to five students. STEAM stands for Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics. In these groups they will be incorporating all subject areas. The groups also promotes team work and team building with various roles. Leadership roles, supporting roles and communication. Students use different types of technology such as printed reading material or digital material, sometimes both. They learn about data collection and the best way of recording data on paper. Students work together to solve problems or create a hands on project using specific resources. Students are given the necessary tools and they work together to achieve success.
Students will use these materials while working in small groups. While in their group they will have to read about a topic (which can change with each lesson). The reading could be a printed article or online article or video. There are many online resources as well. The devices will sometimes be used in centers tool for interactive online programs.
