The art projects we will be using will allow us to expose our students to digital animation, concept art, Videography, screenwriting and film development. Students will communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals. Students will also understand the fundamental concepts of technology operations, demonstrate the ability to choose, use and troubleshoot current technologies and are able to transfer their knowledge to explore emerging technologies. This will also allow us to explore many of the technology-based careers that are available in our economy.
Our students will use this iPad to create stop motion animation films and digital art for the first time. Roughly 350 per semester will be directly involved. The 1800 students at our school will be able to see the results and be part of the exhibition of learning. The entire school district and community will be able to be involved during our district shows that are open to the public.
By accessing these digital tools students will connect with learners and viewers from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, engaging with them in ways that broaden mutual understanding expose perspectives of a democratic society.
By using the design process for generating ideas, testing theories, creating innovative artifacts or solving authentic problems our students will be able to explore new territories that are growing in the technology industry. This is unique for an art class because in the past we have not been able to use technology in our creative design process. With this funding, just imagine how we could enhance the learning environment for our students. We currently do not have the technology we need to provide our students with the most current forms of creating on a digital platform.
