In order to best support the students in my classroom and to offer them a realistic, positive view of education, I try my best to be an exemplar to learning outcomes. This goes beyond meeting academic standards and leads to more understanding of social responsibility. We avoid using paper at all costs, and white board markers become something of a commodity in the classroom.
I try to provide individualized spatial choice to students. Many stand, recline, kick, bounce and sway, and I’m looking to add more seating choices in the classroom. Students learn best when experiencing physiological comfort which is hard to find in standard seating.
