Most of my students have little to no experience coding. I chose the Sphero Mini robot to introduce coding because they are both exciting and educational. This project will also help our school meet its imrovement goals for the year.
Activities will build in rigor and complexity as student's skills develop. Initial activities will focus on controlling the robot through the Sphero Play app's various "drive" modes. Later activities will use coding to control the robot's movements using both the Sphero Edu app and the Scratch language - a block-based visual programming language. Attention will also be given to coding efficiency.
