My students will be using these LEGO sets to create vehicles. They will be using science, math, and problem solving to have races with their creations. The students will be challenged by using different shapes and parts to make their vehicle faster. They will work with a partner, use the different parts, without instructions, and create a vehicle that can race down a ramp. As they watch how it drives, they will be thinking of different ways to improve their design. While this might feel like "playing" to a second grader, they will be engaged in high level thinking! This will be so exciting for them!
