I am requesting a class set of books to read with my 6th -grade class. I plan to examine Malala's story and find relevant themes to connect to my student's life. This book will also tie in perfectly with our writer's workshop unit on personal narratives. We will analyze the text to help with our writing. Help my students become proficient readers and writers! The story of Malala is an inspiration, and many of my students are unaware of what happens outside of our community. This book has the potential to spark deep conversations while engaging in rigorous reading tasks.
