Today's student has been raised with an electronic device in their hands from early childhood. This is how our students want to learn, and wanting to learn is the goal. Once motivated, my students amaze even themselves with their talents, intelligence, and confidence. Seeing students enjoy learning is something I wish you all could witness.
In order to create this positive learning space in my classroom, most of my lessons are technology-based and require a laptop and headphones to access. My students are issued tablets by the school, however, I have 5 students whose parents will not allow them to check one out because they could not afford to replace it should it be lost.
I am hoping to acquire three loaner laptops for use in the classroom so students without computers can access the lesson instead of sharing or writing on paper while others enjoy the enticing graphics and sound of an online lesson.
I also would like to have earbuds for each student to use during independent practice. Not only will they be able to view and listen to educational videos, but we have a large population of students with ADHD, and I have found listening to white noise while working helps them to focus.
Thank you in advance for your help.
