A communication App is a kind of assistive technology. Nonverbal students are not able to use their mouths to communicate, so they can learn how to use words on an assistive technology device to communicate wants and needs. The iPad with the Otterbox case is ideal because it is lightweight and portable, as well as durable for students with special needs.
