I believe that every child should have access to the necessities of life to focus on their education. At Okolona High School and Middle School, 100% of our students qualify for free lunches. This means that a great majority of our students struggle to overcome many of the things taken for granted by others, such as access to clothes, school supplies, personal hygiene products, and other necessary items. Our Chieftain Care Closet can assist struggling students to keep their focus on their education instead of worrying about their basic needs. To make our closet a success, we need items to fill our Chieftain Care Closet. Some often requested items include water, snacks, pencils, pens, highlighters, calculators, paper, folders, notebooks, school uniform shirts, hygiene products, feminine products, deodorant, lotion, band-aids, etc. Our goal is to let all students know that they are cared for while at school, and a fully stocked care closet with resources on hand, when needed, will help out tremendously.
