In my classroom we teach communication, life skills, and behavior in order to help students be an independent as they can be. Some students struggle with sensory issues and need a break, and some items will help reinforce behaviors and communication. We will be teaching our students vocational and life skills while creating a sensory area in the classroom for those who need it. Our students would benefit greatly by having an outlet for their sensory needs. We work on cooking, laundry, social and emotional behavior, and vocational training. With picture cue cards and reinforcers students can begin to learn independence.
