Students in a low-income, Title I area will be able to experience for the first time what it is to go camping - roasting marshmallows over a fire, canoeing, discovering the great outdoors. Many of our kids have never left the suburban area, let alone had the opportunity to explore the great outdoors with their peers. As teachers of the program, we strive to give our students an opportunity to step outside of their comfort zone and explore new things.
Relational capacity is the heart of our program and the camp will be the perfect way to end our school year.
This team building camp is important because it offers a structured opportunity for students to grow outside of the four walls of schools. This camp serves as a unique venue for growth, allowing our students to become independent and self-confident while socializing, making new friends, and even learning new skills.
